POSITION: Sanitation Program Leader
SALARY: $60-90K + Bonus (Depending on Experience and Education)
LOCATION: Holland MI

Keys to the Position:
Development of Master Sanitation Schedules and Planning
Remediation of Regulatory Issues
Understanding and Interpreting Microbiological Testing (position does not do the testing)
Environmental Program Monitoring
Pest Control
General Description
Accountable for holistic plant sanitation program direction and results for plant, warehouse and plant grounds
Responsible for compliance with all local, state and federal regulations; adhering to and administering company policies and procedures
Ensuring compliance with all food safety policies and procedures while ensuring the plant is in proper sanitary condition, including allergen control and pest control
Evaluating facility sanitary conditions visually and analytically, assessing risk based on food safety and public health principles and prioritizing corrective actions
Working closely with engineering and maintenance to identify capital expense needs and ensuring appropriate preventative maintenance programs are utilized
Setting the direction for ongoing sanitation verification activities and validation testing
Acting as sanitation lead in the process of assessing and mitigating food safety risks associated with construction and major maintenance
Maintaining and writing detailed clean up procedures and SSOP as for all plant equipment
 
Requirements
Prefer but not required - Bachelors degree in Pure Sciences or equivalent experience in plant food safety/sanitation Supervisory experience
Understanding and application of basic microbiological principles with in depth food borne pathogen knowledge
Knowledge of HACCP and Sanitation principles
Understanding of the appropriate wet cleaning and dry cleaning methodology
Experience in successfully addressing environmental sanitation challenges in areas such as drains, floors, walls, roofs, and equipment
Thorough knowledge and experience with diverse sanitizing applications.
Effective written and oral communication
Knowledge of food laws, US, and international standards and regulations
Knowledge and experience working with both COP and CIP operations
Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
